Correct incorrectly reported entrepreneur’s earnings payment data to the Incomes Register

According to information we have received from the Incomes Register, you have reported on the Incomes Register’s earnings payment report that income earner is both YEL or MYEL insured and unemployment insurance payment liable. Person who is an entrepreneur in accordance with section 3 of the Self-Employed Persons’ Pensions Act or sections 3-5 of the Farmer’s Pensions Act is not liable to pay unemployment insurance contributions. Because there is an inconsistency on the earnings payment report, please revise information you have reported. In order to correct the information to the Incomes Register, you need to cancel the already given report and give a new report instead.

We apologise for the inconvenience. Information should be corrected, so that we do not invoice payments incorrectly.

How to report to the Incomes Register

When reporting earnings payment data in Incomes Register’s e-service, in addition of reporting YEL/MYEL information you need to report exception to insurance: No obligation to provide insurance (earnings-related pension insurance), (accident and occupational disease insurance) and (unemployment insurance).

In Incomes Register’s e-service the information can be found on Show detailed insurance data.

If you report earnings payment data using technical interface, i.e. data is transferred between payroll software and the Incomes Register, you can enquire more information from your payroll software provider.

If you need assistance using the Incomes Register, please contact Incomes Register’s own customer service by chatting or calling.

Unemployment insurance contributions are invoiced four times a year according to the information reported to the Incomes Register

Unemployment insurance contributions are invoiced on the basis of actualised pay information reported into the Incomes Register. We determine contributions on the grounds of the information reported to the Incomes Register. In addition, the invoicing cycle, amount of the payments and payment terms have changed.

At present we are invoicing of unemployment insurance contributions connected to wages paid in April-June.

Please notice, that there are both employer and employee payments in the invoice. Payment term is 21 days. Penalty interest is invoiced once a year.

If you have chosen electronic invoicing or e-invoicing, we do not send decision letter by post anymore. You will receive the decision letter only electronically attached to the invoice. We use TIEKE’s addresses on our electronic invoicing or the address you have provided us separately.

Verify your information from the online service for unemployment insurance contributions

You can verify your payment information on the Employment Fund’s online service for unemployment insurance contributions. If you detect errors in the due payment, please make the changes into the Incomes Register. Information is transferred directly from the Incomes Register to us after a few days of delay.

Possible corrections are made mainly during the next time the contributions are determined. The next invoices are sent in  October and January.

You will find the invoice and the decision letter with it from the online service for the unemployment insurance contributions. In the online service, you can also communicate securely with the fund, for example on problem situations. Identification to the service takes place through suomi.fi. Acting on behalf of another person or a company requires that the person or company has authorised you to handle its unemployment insurance contributions on its behalf.
