Adult education allowances and scholarships for qualified employees support adults in developing their professional ability and updating their competences. Adult education allowance can be granted to employees and entrepreneurs who have at least eight years of employment history.
Due to a legislative change that came into effect in August 2020, the application process for employees applying for adult education allowance now differs depending on whether they are applying for the first time or have already received an allowance for their studies before 1 August 2020.
Scholarships for qualified employees are granted to people who are studying towards a vocational qualification and who have at least five years of employment history by the time they complete the qualification.
Adult education allowances and scholarships for qualified employees are granted on the basis of the Act on Adult Education benefits.

We will grant a scholarship if you have completed a vocational upper secondary qualification, a further qualification or a specialist qualification and you have at least five years of employment history by the date on which you complete the qualification.
