Janne Metsämäki, Managing Director of the Employment Fund

I am the managing director of the Employment Fund and I have worked for the fund since 2015. I have a master’s degree in law, and I have previously worked at SAK (The Central Organisation of Finnish Trade Unions), the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment of Finland and the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health.

My hobbies include endurance training in the form of running during the summer and cross-country skiing in the winter. I also listen to plenty of music and enjoy reading and watching movies. I am very interested in history and all matters related to our society as a whole.

The merger of the Unemployment Insurance Fund and the Education fund into the Employment Fund was conducted in close cooperation with our whole personnel, which is why I believe that the Employment Fund will take its place as a strong, active and ever evolving implementing force in social security.
